Intertops Casino Dropped by Microgaming

Intertops Casino Dropped by MicrogamingOne of the world’s largest online gaming solutions and software provider, Microgaming has just made a shock announcement. Its association with Intertops Casino, which was one of their first licensees and an association that goes back over a decade, is to end. This is due to a decision made by Intertops to re-enter the still uncertain U.S online gambling market.

This decision by the online casino involves the creation of a dual site scenario, in which one face of their online casino can be presented to U.S players and provide online gambling facilities, while the other remains unavailable to those same players. This has caused Microgaming, which has taken a rigid stance against any involvement in the current situation regarding the U.S online gambling market, to sever ties with its former protégé.

The controversial move was to launch a unique and separate, RealTime Gaming powered Red Intertops casino that will allow U.S gamblers full access to their entire array of online casino games. The existing site was then to become known as the Green Intertops casino, which would remain inaccessible to U.S players. Players from other countries will have access to both the Red and Green facets of the online casino.

The move is innovative and has great potential, but did not take account of the software provider’s stance on U.S players while the controversial UIGEA is still in force. This has caused an unprecedented clash of interests and has caused Microgaming to announce the dissolution of its professional association with the online casino.

Intertops’ head of marketing had no direct comment about the decision, except to say that they have been proud to be powered by a market leading, reputable software provider such as Microgaming for the last ten years.

Analysts for the online gaming industry believe that the decision taken by Micro gaming to sever its professional association with Interop’s was as a direct result of cautious stance the software giant is taking over the current state of the gambling laws in the United States.

Microgaming is naturally highly interested in rejoining the enormous U.S online gambling market as soon as conditions are favorable to do so. However, it is believed by analysts that the company is being extremely careful to avoid doing anything that might be considered illegal in the U.S with respect to the online casino industry.
